Sony Gamescom Intro

I rigged and animated the cross and circle shots in this opener of an opener.

Dan Fitzgerald worked closely with Sony Creative Service Group’s talented Video & Motion Graphics team to deliver a complex motion graphic brand animation. It was played to an international audience of journalists and game players at the start of PlayStation's GamesCom 2014 Press Conference in Cologne, Germany.

This short piece was created as a theatrical tease, a visual spectacle to entertain and engage the audience before the presentation speeches began.
It was designed to fully utilise the multiple wide-screen layout and vast auditorium space.

The 30 second opening segment used powerful imagery of elementally inspired forces combining together to tease the existence of the PlayStation brand shapes.
These iconic shapes then peal away to reveal the PlayStation logo before taking the audience on an epic journey celebrating PlayStation as the best place to play.
